THE 40th ANNUAL GENERAL BODY MEETING OF SEVA KENDRA CALCUTTA

The 40th Annual General Body Meeting of Seva Kendra Calcutta was held on the 18th of July, 2013. We had around 100 participants for this meeting both from the staff of Seva Kendra and our partners who are always willing to help us whenever we need them. The programme for the day was divided into 4 parts.

Morning Interaction Session - 10:30 am to 1:30 pm

We started our morning session at 10.30 am with some tea and light snacks. After our little refreshment we began our programme with a short welcome speech by Mr. Tapan Andrews followed by a prayer song by Ms. Iadashisha Lyngkhoi. Our Director Rev. Dr. Franklin Menezes then welcomed everyone with a few inspiring words and then asked each of the units of Seva Kendra to introduce themselves and brief us on the work their unit does, after the introductions our Director explained to us why he had each unit talk and the benefits of knowing everything that happens in Seva Kendra as a whole and not just our particular units. We then had a short break.

After the break we all came back for a short interactive session on Process Mapping led by Mr. Bablu Sarkar. In this session the concept of Process Mapping was explained and illustrated, the procedure, its impact and benefits, and how it can be used to help us become more effective and efficient was made known to us. It was a very informative session and many of us kept talking about it even during our lunch break which followed soon after the session was over.
