Redesigned Solar Rooftop at Seva Kendra Calcutta

Seva Kendra Calcutta has been steadfastly promoting the consumption of clean energy through various advocacy programmes.  One such programme has been the installation of the rooftop Solar Panels/ Photovoltaic roofs on the different buildings of Seva Kendra Calcutta.   They include: the old training centre building, major part of the administration block and Alan de Lastic block. Recently the old training centre building roof-top solar panel layouts were redesigned for enhanced Solar Power generation. Construction and installation of the rooftop solar panels in the second part of the administration block is currently underway.  The solar energy generation capacity for the administrative block is 10 kWp grid; the old training centre building is 11 kWp grid and the Alan de Lastic block is 2 kWp standalone.  The solar energy rooftop at Seva Kendra Calcutta has generated tremendous interest in many institutions and organizations in and around Kolkata.  Requests have been pouring in to collaborate and share the expertise with these organizations.  It is hoped that the success story of the clean energy drive spearheaded by Seva Kendra Calcutta will eventually become a talking point in both government and non-government circles that could influence future policy decisions in favour of promotion of solar energy.
